HONORING OUR FALLEN,
SUPPORTING OUR WOUNDED
The Sgt. David R. Christoff Fallen Heroes Memorial Fundraiser was established in honor of Marine Sgt. David R. Christoff who lost his life on May 22, 2006, during his second tour of duty in Iraq. Our annual golf fundraiser is an opportunity to remember and celebrate David’s life and to recognize and show appreciation for the many contributions of our military veterans, active duty military personnel, and wounded and fallen heroes. Our fundraiser has provided much needed support to military personnel and families in need; to date, we have proudly contributed more than $100,000.00 to various charities in support of wounded military heroes and their families.
This year we are honored to be hosting a special reunion dinner on Saturday evening following the golf tournament for the Battle of Fallujah Marines and family members, many who served with David at the second battle of Fallujah in late 2004 and early 2005. These American Heroes are traveling from across the country to Bowling Green, Ohio to help us honor and celebrate David’s memory, while reuniting as a unit to spend critical and beneficial time with each other, time necessary for continued healing and emotional support. Our 2017 memorial fundraiser proceeds will be donated to the Semper Fi Fund, a highly respected military charity that provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post 9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The Semper Fi Fund has been awarded the highest rating from watchdog groups; “An A Top-Rated Charity” from CharityWatch – one of only two veteran nonprofits to receive this rating last year – and six consecutive “4-Stars” from Charity Navigator, an achievement attained by only 3% of rated charities. The Semper Fi Fund maintains an extremely low overhead: since inception, overhead has averaged only 6% of revenue, and they provide rapid assistance with no red tape.
